It's a hiphopolatamus! I didn't know what to draw so I started with the tail. If I had more room on my paper I would have drawn in someone running him through with an arrow because he looks like he is dying. 5-12-02. Fine tip marker. Okay here's the phsycological trip: he's a little bit of everything and when you have diverse interests what exactally will you be good for? So what's this beast good for? (Hey Pegasus can't exsist! Horses are too heavy to fly! And that's stupid, because he can't swim in the water unless he has all fish parts?...I don't know) So what direction are you going?

Your technique on the lineart is so amazing! I love the detail and the movement in this piece!

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "Thanks --sometimes I wish I couldn't rely on the pen as often as I do. It's one of my weaknesses unfortunately *S*"

I know how he feels!! When you can do too many things and you like them all, you can never get really good at one, cause you can't concentrate! Poor little one!

Excellent job, technically and inspirationally!

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "I realize that beings like this appear on coat of arms but I felt that this being was confused. Very much like a person with attention deficit disorder who struggles to organize themselves. Thanks for your comment 2"

and I forgot this: he does look kinda like hes dying but if you draw a little more you could stick a branch or some kelp in his hands, and eating of the top, AND it would help you decide what he does! There! Killin two birds with one stone! Glad they're not Pheonixes! 12

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "I must say that I really appreciate your imagination *S*"

Maybe he's for swiming and flying, like an cormerant or puffin, you know, where they dive from a hundred feet in the air into a school of anchoveys? He wouldnt be for just flying, cuz his tail would serve no perpose and would just hang limp. He may be just for swimming, though, cuz maybe his gills are under his chin or hidden under his mane or something. Or maybe he's like a dolphin where he has to come up for air after so long. his paws may be webbed, and a lot of seabirds that can swim under the water use their wings to steer and to build up speed. If he really got them working, wings of that size could probably win him a race against a marlin and a mako.

I see a fish out of water and a bird drowing in the sea. I see a lion who cannot hunt because he has no teeth and a unicorn who is dying as the myth fades from the lips of children.

Perhaps this creature is fantasy personified as it tries to keep up with the changing expectations of a progressively cynical world...

Sorry for the weirdness but this pic really got me to thinking.

*points and laughs at the critter*
No, no you don't belong. *blank stare*

This is classic, an beautifully rendered, too. *nods*

And now... may I please, PLEASE use this guy in a story?

:-) Audrey S. Totire replies: "*L* You may certainly use this guy in a story. I am very curious to see how you would accomplish that 2 Thanks!"

Story's up... and, well... its odd. But then again... ¬.¬
Anyway, I hope you like it!

You can find it here: http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/libr/r/a/rahah/gobule.html.html

And don't worry, its not all that long.

1 Audrey S. Totire replies: "HAHAHA! "Insiduous God of Friend Chicken???" SO I guess this will be added to the elemental gods and goddess tour eventually?...If I recall correctly the word "Hiphopolotomous" came from an Adam Sandler movie. My friend thought it was funny so I just labeled this critter, thanks to her! .... Very funny story--I'll be back to comment there later 2"
